Welcome to RBW Classic Cars Workshop
Based in Saltburn-by-the-sea, North Yorkshire, RBW Classic Cars, formerly known as Rusty Bug Workshop, are specialists in the restoration of classic cars. From soda blasting and blast cleaning to paint work, here at RBW Classic Cars we provide an in house service, with only upholstery and chroming being outsourced. Steve Green, Owner of RBW, is an award-winning classic car restorer with over 20 years’ experience of restoration projects, including projects on high value vehicles. This is a family run business with Lawrie Green – Steve’s father – a time served Routes man – providing mechanical knowledge gained from many years experience in the trade.
Over 30 years ago Lawrie acquired the car of his dreams a rusty sad looking TR2 it was in desperate need of restoration if it was to survive for any length of time. He brought it home to his son Steve then a painter and bodywork specialist working on ‘modern’ cars. Together they set about a complete nuts and bolt restoration in the garage at home – sound familiar? Some time later, once restored, Lawrie`s pride and joy went to the TR International where he was asked to enter it into the concourse – which he did – the entire family being roped in to clean and polish. He walked or maybe drove away with the best in show award! This car is still going strong to date has had no further restoration and still regularly collects awards at shows.
In our workshop in North Yorkshire, close to Redcar, all of us at RBW Classic Cars are classic car enthusiasts who have developed our technical and mechanical knowledge to be able to offer a complete classic car restoration service. We have found blast cleaning to play a vital role in removing pant and rust from classic cars an now offer blast cleaning services to customers as well.
Whatever your needs are for your classic car – whether it be minor tinkering or a full restoration we would love to have a look at your car and see how we can help you.
